The Palm Beach Concours, a premier showcase of automotive excellence, delivered an unforgettable experience at the stunning Trump International Golf Club on December 8th. With its lush greens serving as a picturesque backdrop and holiday decorations displayed in the club house, the event drew car enthusiasts and socialites from across South Florida for a day of elegance, excitement, and unparalleled weather.
The event, which started in 2019, benefits the Mini Me Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting children with cancer and other rare diseases and their families directly. It featured a dazzling array of classic and exotic cars, each meticulously curated to represent the finest in automotive design and engineering. The classes included European Postwar Open, European Prewar Open, Horseless Carriages (pre-1915), among others, giving the spectators a unique opportunity to see these classic vehicles up close and in person. Among the standout vehicles were no fewer than three Jaguar XKEs, celebrated for their timeless design and engineering brilliance. SFJC members Warren and Sandra Aplin showed their 1960’s iconic yellow Corvette, Britt Chapman from the Jaguar Club of Florida was proudly competing with his incomparable 1987 White Jaguar XJS.
Adding to the day’s festivities was a dynamic Elvis impersonator, who charmed the crowd with his spot-on renditions of the King’s greatest hits. The performer’s energy and charisma brought a nostalgic flair to the event, drawing guests to the stage as they sang along and danced to timeless rock-and-roll classics. Live music and entertainment were complemented by gourmet food offerings that delighted guests. From elegant hors d’oeuvres to indulgent desserts, the culinary spread added to the overall luxury of the experience, ensuring that no detail was overlooked.
A troupe of glamorous showgirls added an extra sparkle, interacting with guests and posing for photos alongside the stunning automobiles, while the weather itself seemed to cooperate perfectly. Clear skies, a gentle breeze, and ideal temperatures created the perfect outdoor setting.
Highlights of the event included a special award ceremony recognizing the most exceptional vehicles on display. Chief Judge, our own Ruben Verdes did a remarkable job of sorting out the best of the best of this event. Winners were celebrated for their dedication to preserving and presenting these rolling works of art. Ultimately, Larry Kopp’s 1931 RR Phantom II finished in purple won Best of Show. Well done Larry!
